My personal experience, confirmed by numerous studies, is:

  • It’s faster to process email in batches rather than checking in 30 times/day.
  • Humans cannot multi-task, they just complete both tasks slower, and with lower quality. (Texting and driving, meetings and email)
  • The best ideas, new ideas, come in a flash when you’re not working.

Google is testing prototypes of a “smart” contact lens that will make it easier for diabetes patients to monitor their blood sugar levels and stay healthy.

Project leaders Brian Otis and Babak Parviz said on Google’s official blog Thursday that the new lens measures wearers’ glucose levels in their tears. It contains a tiny glucose sensor and miniscule wireless chip that can gather and transmit information on a continual basis.

Every few weeks brings another report of email and other personal account information being stolen from a major corporation. Last month a massive viral botnet was discovered stealing the info of over 2 million accounts from Facebook, Google and Yahoo. And the month before that, the details of a whopping 152 million accounts were stolen from Adobe. This may leave you wondering if one of your many accounts across the internet has been exposed, but how do you tell?

You may have heard by now: the classic incandescent light bulb is on its way out. Because incandescent light bulbs are some of the least efficient on the market—wasting up to 90% of electricity as heat instead of light—they are being phased out of production and what’s on the shelves and in warehouses now is all that’s left.

I don’t know much about Google Analytics. In fact, I generally gloss over when I read anything about it, since I usually find it all quite overwhelming and hard to understand. And not that much fun, to be honest.

But, being a content marketer, I can’t afford to ignore Google Analytics. It’s a great (free!) tool that helps us keep track of our goals for the Buffer blog and understand where we can improve.

When “everything is becoming digital,” private, public, and civil institutions become more dependent on information systems and more vulnerable to attack by sophisticated cybercriminals, political “hacktivists,” nation-states, and even their own employees. As a result, all of our institutions will have to make increasingly thoughtful trade-offs between the value inherent in a hyperconnected world and the risk of operational disruption, intellectual property loss, public embarrassment, and fraud that cyberattacks create.

The job hunt is nothing short of exhausting.  From unanswered emails to unopened resumes, it’s hard not to feel discouraged (and we’re guessing that the lacking paycheck isn’t helping your self-esteem).

The clouds may seem to break when you’re invited in for an interview.  The problem is that most people (perhaps unknowingly) are cloaked in that musty smell of defeat that comes from being unemployed; and despite your straight smile and firm handshake, your interviewer can pick up on that energy.

I have been interviewing over 30 multimillionaires, 5 billionaires, world-class athletes, NYT bestselling authors, and billionaires.  Moreover, having a family member who has been ranked # 21 wealthiest person in the US and #41 in the world by Forbes a few years back, gave me some insides on what ultra successful people do daily to become the best in the world.

1. Successful people exercise their body first thing in the morning to gain energy for the rest of the day.

It could be anything starting from stretching and yoga to running and weigh lifting.

BioBeat

Thinking about Big Pharma’s relationship with the biotech industry last week at the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco reminded me of an old physical education teacher I had in 7th grade.

This guy was feared for his patented “pinch.” He would grab misbehaving teenage boys by the clavicle, and squeeze so hard that his thumb and index finger almost completely wrapped around the bone. He would then drag the pimply, 100-pound punk to his office for a scolding.

The Top 10 Most Shared Super Bowl Ads of All Time

At an estimated $4 million per 30-second slot, Super Bowl commercials are make-or-break opportunities for brands.

New data, compiled by Unruly Media, shows which advertisers got the most bang for their buck in terms of social lift.

The research shows that 60% of the most-shared TV spots were released before game day, and three of the most-shared ads of all time are film trailers (two of which are from the Fast and Furious franchise).

Google Autocomplete is notorious for taking a standard search and anticipating something completely ridiculous.

In the style of Tumblr user Gaysquib, we conducted our own experiment and created a map of what each state wants (according to Autocomplete).

Hershey s 3D Chocolate Printer Will Make Your Mouth Water VIDEO

Willy Wonka's wildest dreams might be coming true. Hershey's and 3D Systems are teaming up to create a 3D printer that, yes, produces chocolate.

Both companies see the endeavor as an opportunity for advancement. Hersey's believes a 3D printer could act as a new delivery system for its products, and 3D Systems hopes that it will thrust 3D-printing technology into the mainstream, according to CNN.

Using tiny biodegradable particles to disrupt the body’s normal immune response after a heart attack could help save patients from tissue damage and certain long-term health problems that often follow. Researchers have shown that injecting such particles into mice within 24 hours of a heart attack not only significantly reduces tissue damage, but also results in those mice having stronger cardiac function 30 days later. The inventors of the new technology now plan to pursue human trials.

Net neutrality—the idea that all Internet traffic should generally be treated equally—suffered a setback last week when a federal court struck down the U.S. Federal Communications Commission’s latest regulatory effort (see “Net Neutrality Quashed: New Pricing Schemes, Throttling, and Business Models to Follow”).

Pro-neutrality types have worried that a few giant companies will end up controlling, or at least mediating, the Internet experience for much of the population because of special deals they’ve struck with Internet providers for prioritized or subsidized data delivery.

Normally, “cooperation” and “competition” are opposing forces — but not in Tennessee’s entrepreneur ecosystem, where we’ve realized that “normal” does not get the job done.

For example, Tennessee’s nine regional startup accelerators — which form a statewide network that is unique in the nation — harness the power of cooperation through statewide engagement and support to ultimately create companies that can effectively compete in the global marketplace. Since January 2013, Tennessee’s accelerator network has screened more than 1,600 companies, engaged more than 600 mentors and helped launch 348 businesses.

Q: My husband says his job as a high school teacher of special education students is more stressful than my job as a retail customer service manager. No way! The loser of this bet has to do the family laundry for two weeks. Who's headed for the soap suds? — K.H.

A: Uh, duh ... on this issue, "include me out," as legendary 20th century movie magnate Samuel Goldwyn supposedly said when exiting from an industry labor dispute.

Ihttp://www.freedigitalphotos.net/images/USA_g133-Statue_Of_Liberty_p35635.html know this is a very important part in a startup’s journey if they want to have a strong base in US. For foreigners incorporating in USA, it’s pretty easy but can seem tough if you haven’t interacted with people who have done it earlier or you’ve read about it on the internet. That’s why I thought I should share on how I did it completely, so the coming entrepreneurs can do it very easily just by following these steps.
